NOT ENOUGH!
Memorise: "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." (Matt 7:21).
Read: Matthew 7:21-23
In Revelation 2:16, the Lord told the church in Pergamos that He was going to fight against the Nicolaitanes in their midst - people who tolerate sexual immorality. This attitude of God is consistent with His past dealings with His children. For instance, after God delivered the Israelites from Egypt, most of them still perished in the wilderness without getting to the Promised Land. Not everyone who becomes born again will make it to Heaven in the end. If after being saved, one gets to a point of believing (like the Libertines and the Nicolaitanes) that fornication and adultery are not as bad as people say they are, and that, after all, God knows we are weak beings, then it is obvious such a fellow will end up in Hell. After receiving Christ as your Lord and Saviour, you would still be required to decide your eternal destination. Not every member of your church will get to Heaven. Not all ministers or workers will get to Heaven, unless they live a consistently holy life. By God's grace, my number one goal in life is to make it to Heaven. Where do you want to end?
Some people erroneously think it is enough to be saved. It is not! If you are saved but do not protect your salvation to the end, you might loose it. It is not enough to serve God. A growing number of people today are serving God, or working for God without any personal relationship with Him. If you are working for God but not working with Him, you have no assurance of Heaven. Some people also believe that yesterday's testimonies, achievements and accomplishments are enough. No, they are not! God does not want you to live in the history of your past but in the reality of your present. If you had a great past but have a horrible present, the latter can erode the goodies of the former. What is Heaven saying about your present reality? If you have nothing to say of God's dealings with you at the moment, then you have been overtaken by history. Anyone overtaken by history is not sure of making Heaven. Miracles are not also enough to take you to Heaven. A good number of hell's eternal occupants will be those who can count several miracles God did through them. Without holiness no man shall see God. To what extent do you do His will daily?
Key Point: It is a choice to be saved. It is another choice to make heaven. Both should be upheld.
