SAT. 30/06/2012 - YOUTH: HOW DECENT? - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Saturday 30 June

YOUTH: HOW DECENT?

Memorise: Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shall both save thyself, and them that hear thee. 1 Timothy 4:16

Read: 1 Timothy 4:12-16

If you will be relevant in God's plan for the last days, you must totally discard this end time instant gratification bug. Today, many students are after instant education. Obtain your degree now! This is why education standards are falling in Nigerian universities and tertiary institutions We have to return to core values in our educational system. Too much emphasis is being placed on certificates. It is not all about certificate. Anybody can buy one from the shelf of fraudsters and call himself or herself a graduate. The certified must prove by their performance and character that they earned the paper they carry. If they cannot prove this, it is most likely that certificate was stolen. Let us return to the era of merit. Let us go back to adopting true, healthy value system that can move us forward.

God is not happy with half-baked people. If the disciples of Christ were half-baked, we would have completely lost the essence of Christianity by now. Speaking to the youthful pastor Timothy, Paul admonished him to attend to Beading, exhortation and to doctrine (1 Timothy 4:13). God still wants you to pay attention to studying the Word of God and reading books to develop yourself. Youths are expected by God to be examples to their nations in word, life-style, love, spirit, faith and in purity. As a youth, your dressing should show that you are not conforming with the world. Your clothes must be right. Your hair must be trimmed and combed. No wearing of dread locks. No sagging - allowing your trousers to drop to reveal your pant. That is madness! No miniskirts or undue exposure of what should be covered as a lady. Be decent. You are a youth for Jesus so remember to stay different in order to glorify God.

KEY POINT:
Get your basics right. As a Christian youth, you must not bring shame To the Lord because of half-baked education.

FRI. 29/06/2012 - SPIRITUAL ADVOCACY - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Friday 29 June

SPIRITUAL ADVOCACY

Memorise: My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 1 John 2: 1

Read: Revelation 12:10-11

When you have a case in court, who do you call to speak for you? Your lawyer or defence attorney of course. Just as we have cases in courts in the physical realm, so also do we have cases in the spiritual realm. Believe it or not, verdicts from the spiritual courts supersede that of the physical realm. Many times, people only act out in the physical what has been decided in spiritual courts. Witches, wizards and evil people gather in the dead of the night to lay certain accusations against people and to pass judgments on them. You do not need to attend their meetings even though sometimes God can take you there to see what they are doing, A minister of God once saw himself on an elevator descending into the earth. As it stopped, he stepped into a meeting arena of people belonging to the kingdom of darkness. He sat with them and listened to all they were saying and doing, then he stood up and began to oppress them by pressing each of their heads downwards, saying, "So this is what you come here to do?" They were surprised to see him at their meeting. He was there oppressing them but they could not harm him because greater is the One inside of him.

Every evil gathering against you shall fail and their plans against you shall be disappointed in Jesus name. Sometimes God can give you a glimpse of the activities of your enemies. His purpose is for you to use this knowledge to fight these enemies. All the same, when a case is brought against you in the spirit realm, 1 John 2:1 says Jesus Christ is our advocate. In courts, you have defence witnesses who your lawyer will call. Romans 8:33 says God is your justifier and Genesis 18:23-25 calls Him the Judge of the earth. And if He is for you who can be against you (Romans 8:31)? On the other hand, you have the accuser of the brethren - the devil and demons who bring cases against us (Revelations 12:10). Isaiah 54:17 says you shall condemn every tongue that rises against you. This is why you must not do anything to turn your Defence Attorney against you. As long as He is in agreement with you, victory over your accusers is certain.

PRAYER POINT:
Thank God for your Advocate - Jesus Christ. Ask God for grace To remain in good standing with Him.

THU. 28/06/2012 - OUR GOD REIGNS - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Thursday 28 June

OUR GOD REIGNS

Memorise: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:21

Read: 2 Samuel 6:9-12

Are you doubting whether God can intervene in your life? Irrespective of your doubts, because our God reigns, laughter will come into your family this season in Jesus name. Our God cannot co-reign with poverty because He is the Jehovah El-Shaddai -the All Sufficient God, the inexhaustible God (Genesis 17:1). In 2 Samuel 6:9-12, the Ark of the Covenant was brought into the house of Obededom and poverty and lack immediately gave way. He became so prosperous that he was the talk of the town "just within "three months! Is Jesus in your life? If He is, I command lack and poverty to disappear from your life today!

Several ramifications can be deduced from the fact that our God reigns. Since our God now reigns, the rule of sickness, demons, sorrow, darkness, failure, barrenness, and poverty has been terminated in your life. An African proverb says that when the cat travelled, the house became the abode of mice, but when the cat returns, what happens? "The mice will disappear or be killed. Our God reigns, means the cat has returned so every sorrow, sickness, disgrace, disappointment, etc. must scatter now. Also, since no two captains can man the same ship, when God steps in, everything else contending with God will have to step out. The moment the Lord stepped into Peter's boat, failure jumped out but it did not stop there. Jesus became the controller and owner of the boat. When He comes into your house, He will not just be a guest or tenant but the landlord. When you let Him into your home, He will not just be a friend of the bridegroom but the One in charge of that home and barrenness and other anti-family elements will give way. When you let Him into your business, He will become the MD/CEO and poverty will leave you alone. The devil can only play tricks in areas Jesus is not reigning. Is He reigning in every area of your life?

PRAYER POINT:
Master Jesus, reign in every area of my life.

WED. 27/06/2012 - RELEASE BY FORGIVING - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Wednesday 27 June

RELEASE BY FORGIVING

Memorise: Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellow servant, even as I had pity on thee? Matthew 18:33

Read: Matthew 18:21-35

Most things on earth respond to the principle of sowing and reaping, and mercy is not an exception. If you want to continually enjoy God's mercy, sow mercy into the lives of those who offend or owe you. In Matthew 18:21-35, we learn that the reason a heavily-indebted servant whose debt was forgiven had to be locked up until he paid up, was because he could not forgive his fellow servant as he was forgiven. As a result, the forgiveness he had received was neutralised by his unforgiving stance and he ended up a debtor. You asked for, and received forgiveness as a sinner and you became born again. Even after your salvation, you keep asking for the blood of Jesus to cleanse you from sin no matter how weighty they are. Yet you refuse to forgive the brother who misunderstood or misinterpreted your views. If possible, you would want the Holy Ghost fire to roast him; for what? For not greeting you when he passed by or for stepping on your toes? If you cannot forgive and truly release that fellow from your heart, you have ceased from walking in love.

Many people are sick and wondering why. You will be surprised how many people are sick because of un-forgiveness, bitterness and similar character defects. A woman came to Ebute Metta, Lagos (SW Nigeria) in the early 80's. It was the 18th of all the places she had gone to for prayers. When she came into the church, she said she had finally found a church where nobody would kill her. One day, she rose up from her sleep and accused Baba of being among those who wanted her dead. Then 1 knew something was wrong so I invited her for more talk and the Holy Spirit told me she was harbouring un-forgiveness hence tormentors were tormenting her life. When I tried to probe further, she said her husband did something and she resolved never to forgive him. If you want progress, prosperity, forgiveness and mercy, forgive those who offend you. Release them from your heart. Has your pastor offended you? Forgive him. Has the choir mistress stepped hard on your toes during your rehearsals? Forgive her. Sow forgiveness and reap mercy. U n-forgiveness is holding back the blessings of many. Release your blessings today!

KEY POINT:
The level of love or hatred in the body of Christ can be measured By the type of prayers we pray for one another.

TUE. 26/06/2012 - WHAT ABOUT YOUR TONGUE? - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Tuesday 26 June

WHAT ABOUT YOUR TONGUE?

Memorise: Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21

Read: Psalms 34:11-13

Many things seen in the spirit realm never materialise because those who saw them failed to cry out. Your mouth is a very powerful weapon that could determine whether you live or die. It is relatively preferable to be able to speak than to see. When they brought a blind and dumb man to the Lord in Matthew 12:22, He healed him and the man both "spake and saw". Take note of the order. There is something called the law of priority. If you can speak, even if you were Wind as a bat, with your voice you tan call out for help like erstwhile blind Bartimaeus. Proverbs 18:21 says the power of death and life are in the tongue. Some parents use their tongues to kill, limit/enslave or destroy themselves or members of their families. When something unpleasant happens, watch what you say! When your child misbehaves, watch your remarks! When you are angry, keep the doors of your lips sealed! Why? The enemy is right beside you with a spiritual recording device, ready to record what you say in order to use it against you. The homes of many believers are not together because their tongue is pulling them apart.

Are you always confessing negative things about yourself? Do you justify such actions because you feel you should say things as they are and face reality? Or you think if you confess positive things about a negative situation, it amounts to a lie or self deception? The rule is, never use your mouth to negate what you want God to do to an unpleasant situation. The Lord told the Israelites in the wilderness, It is what you have spoken in my ears that I will do to you (Numbers 14:28). What do you often speak into God's ears? If you study the life of Jesus Christ, He had great control over His tongue. He used His tongue positively and He reaped the results. Lazarus died but the Lord said he was sleeping and that He would go and wake him up, and it was so (John 11:11, 43-44). Jairus’ daughter died and Jesus said she was sleeping and He woke her back to life Mark 5:39-43). The power of your tongue can grant approval to the negative things you say about yourself. Watch what you say with your mouth!

ACTION POINT:
Deliberately confess good things concerning yourself and your family Regularly and God will establish your confessions.

MON. 25/06/2012 - KEY OF CONSECRATION - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Monday 25 June

KEY OF CONSECRATION

Memorise: Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. James 4:8

Read: Philippians 3:7-11

Just like The Door-Jesus, can open all doors, so also can your faith, if only you are linked with The Door and you believe in Him. Apart from The Door and your faith, another key that can open the door to power is the key of consecration. James 4:8 says:

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. You will notice from this verse that having a close walk with God is reciprocal. God has already taken the first step by sending His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for us when we did not know Him. Now He says take a step towards me and t will take a step towards you. Man's stride is short compared to God's stride. At the end of the day, He is still the One to take the greater step but He wants you to put in that little effort. If you love the Lord, you will sacrifice one thing or the other to prove your love. What effort are you making towards growing in Christ? There is power in consecration. In Philippians 3:7-11, Paul sacrificed all his past gains and achievements just to know Jesus. No wonder Acts 19:11-12 says God performed special miracles through him. Are you consecrated? In past times, people entered covenants such as No Bible No Breakfast, No Soul No Sleep, No Tithe No Spending, No Prayer No Service, No Forgiveness No Sleep, No Forgiveness No Offering, etc. What is your consecration today?

Another key to open doors is obedience, which God prefers to sacrifice. Obedience entails receiving instructions and complying with them. It is increasingly becoming difficult for Christians to comply with simple instructions. They prefer to adjust instructions to suit their tastes. If you cannot obey God to the letter, certain doors may remain closed to you. Isaiah 1:19 says you must be willing and obedient before you can enjoy the treasures of your land. Have you complied with every instruction the Lord has given you? As you obey Him, doors will open to you in every direction.

ACTION POINT:
Consecration gives direction to your life. Adopt one or more covenants with God as exemplified in the study and make them your daily slogans and practice.

SUN. 24/06/2012 - DEATH SEALS FATE - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Sunday 24 June

DEATH SEALS FATE

Memorise: And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:15

Read: Luke 16:19-26

It is good to be talented and divinely gifted but the talents, gifts, abilities and anointing that go with you to the grave without being utilised could stand against you as exhibits of disobedience. Are you using your resources effectively? Colossians 4:5 says the time is short so try and redeem it. One reason people dread death is because after death one's fate is sealed. The story of the rich man and Lazarus illustrates this (Luke ?&:t 9-26). Immediately Lazarus died, his soul was transported by angels to paradise whereas his body was buried without any ceremony. In fact, to many, including the rich man, it was good riddance to bad rubbish. His fate was immediately sealed. He was forever to be in Heaven. No more begging, no more sickness, no more ridicule, no more dogs to lick his wounds. He would forever enjoy the splendour, glory, comfort and abundance of the Most High God. That was a positive eternal seal.

As a believer, it is your duty to rely on God's grace to live for Christ while you are alive and resist the devil's advances, offers and temptations until your last breath. A second afterwards, your fate is forever sealed in Heaven. Beloved, are you going through tough times? Are the times even becoming tougher? Are you facing so much pressure to compromise your faith especially because some leaders you looked up to have fallen? Are you thinking of giving up? Don't! Hold on still. It will soon be over! You are at a very crucial stage of your faith, don't give in to your flesh, the devil or external pressures! just continue to ask for grace to live victoriously every day. On the other hand, the rich man died and was given a world-class burial but his soul found itself in hell. His fate was sealed. On earth, he did not have time to repent; now he had all the time but no opportunity to repent. If you have opportunity now to repent, by all means create time for it, because a time is corning when you may have all the time but no opportunity. Millions are regretting and acknowledging Christ in hell but all that is futile because their fate is forever sealed. Revelation 20:11-15 says all inhabitants of hell will eventually be moved into an eternal lake of fire!

ACTION POINT:
When death seals the fate of an individual, it is a point of no return. Consider yourself if your fate is positively sealed and take necessary action.

SAT. 23/06/2012 - HALF-BAKED GENERATION - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Saturday 23 June

HALF-BAKED GENERATION

Memorise: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4

Read: Romans 15:4

If you will become someone great, you must maximise the use of your time resource which is one of the greatest assets available to you. May you not fall victim to opportunities lost in time like the children of Israel! A philosophy 1 imbibed from my teacher in my primary school days was: "Never leave till tomorrow what you can do today". Many people sit down and say they are killing time; No, they are killing themselves because time does not die. How effectively are you using your time? Are you fond of procrastinating? This is the time to dust yourself up and begin to run.

Another major challenge we have to be mindful of which can affect our success is the modern day instant gratification culture and tendency to be multitasking in so many things but without depth in anything. In time past, people took their time to do all that was done such as cooking, building, etc. hence they were well done. But today, technology has turned everything into something instant: Instant tea! Instant coffee! Instant meal! Instant wife! Instant husband! Instant everything! There is so much rush doing virtually everything that virtually nothing is well done. Things are now half-cooked and half-baked. You now eat half-baked food, live in half-baked houses; marry half-baked wife or husband, raise half-baked children, attend half-baked services and raise half-baked converts. Today, half-baked pastors and leaders adorn our churches and they are giving the body of Christ a lot of problems. Also, senior pastors who should be calling for vigils are now saying they are not necessary. Nobody wants to spend time praying anymore. Claim it now and get it now is now trendy! If the pastor is praying for five minutes, the members would be asking, what is wrong with this fellow? This is an unfortunate trend that every true believer in Christ must overcome. There is no half-baked salvation. It is either you are saved or you are not. God gives attention to details but if you don't you cannot flow with Him.

KEY POINT:
Some people rush out of church service which they barely endured and go to spend twice or more of that time on the internet. Consider your ways!

FRI. 22/06/2012 - BUILD UP INTERNALLY - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Friday 22 June

BUILD UP INTERNALLY

Memorise: That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith: that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, Ephesians 3:17

Read: Ephesians 3:17-20

When God decides to bless an individual, it will affect him all round. God can go as far as using the person's enemy to bless him. We have an example of this in Numbers 23:16-24. Here Balaam was hired to curse. He opened his mouth to curse the children of Israel but blessings came out instead. This is one of God's benefits to the ones that He loves. He can turn a curse into a blessing depending on who is involved. Every curse against you and your family shall become blessings in Jesus name. Once God blesses you, nobody can reverse it except you. The moment God says you are blessed; things will begin to happen in quick succession. If your work was not prospering, it will begin to prosper, but If you stray from Him, what was easy will become hard. If what you used to do effortlessly is now being done with a lot of struggle, God may be calling for your attention. It is possible you may have strayed from His path. Examine yourself and reconnect as quickly as possible.

Even when you follow Him with all your heart, your prosperity may not come overnight, but be rest assured that it will surely come. Some testimonies are best kept with the testifiers because if they are shared, people will say God is partial. God can bless you beyond measure because His name is Jehovah El-Shaddai, That request you think is too great is nothing to Him. When you fail to ask exactly what you need, thinking you are becoming excessive, you are only acting in doubt. Ephesians 3:20 says:

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

From this scripture, the working of God in your life is a function of the measure of His presence or power in your life. If you want God to do the impossible for and through you, you must ensure that His presence inside you grows tremendously. Investing in knowing God is not in vain. Ask Him to fill every void in you to a point that only Jesus would be seen in all you say and do.

PRAYER POINT:
Pray according to Ephesians 3:17; that your heart may be rooted and grounded in love.

THU. 21/06/2012 - MENOPAUSE TO "MENO-PLAY" - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Thursday 21 June

MENOPAUSE TO "MENO-PLAY"

Memorise: Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD, Isaiah 54:1

Read: Isaiah 54:1-4

When God reigns, He reigns alone. He never shares His throne with sickness, Satan or demons. God is light and it is not possible for darkness to rule where the Light is reigning, hence John 1:5 says:

All his life, Bartimaeus was in darkness as a blind man, but the day he came across our God, his darkness gave way to light (Mark 10:46-52). Are you in a state of darkness? Is darkness thriving in your situation as a child of God? In the name of Jesus I command that darkness to give way to the full glow of the light of Jesus in your situation.

Likewise, it is not possible for God to reign and sorrow rule over a life simultaneously because Psalms 16:11 says your joy is full in His presence. In Luke 7:11-15, a widow lost her son and was full of sorrow and grief, but when she contacted our God, her sorrow turned into her greatest joy. What is that sorrow that is challenging the fullness of your joy today? In the name of Jesus, sorrow, pack your load and go now! In addition, our God cannot reign with failure at the same time because He is the Almighty (Psalms 91:1). After Peter failed all nightlong, our God entered his boat and failure was terminated permanently. Have you been battling with failure at school or work? An end has come to failure in your life today! Also, Our God and barrenness cannot reign together since our God can raise children from stones. A 50 year old sister who had never been pregnant before, missed her period and after examination by the doctors, she was told she had attained menopause. Nine months later, menopause became "meno-play" and she delivered a baby. At age 90, when God told Sarah her menopause will become "meno-play", she laughed but her laughter did not stop, because she kept laughing after the baby came (Genesis 1 8:9-1 5). Are you trusting God for a baby but the doctors have said menopause has set in? Do not worry, it is only a pause and if you press that button, it will begin to play again. The Lord is pressing the button and that pause is released into play today. Nine months from today you shall embrace your baby!

PRAYER POINT:
Every good development in my life currently experiencing a pause, Father, press the "play" button today.

WED. 20/06/2012 - LOVE & MERCY ARE SEEDS - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Wednesday 20 June

LOVE & MERCY ARE SEEDS

Memorise: The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh. Proverbs 11:17

Read: Psalms 103:11-3

God is abundant in love and his love is wonderful. There is a generic love of God and the special love of God. John 3:16 speaks of the generic love of God for mankind. Every man born into this world is a recipient of this love, whether this love is accepted and appreciated is a personal matter for individuals. It is this generic love that makes Him send his sun and rain on all men-good and evil. Our Lord Jesus spoke about this love in Matthew 5:43-45. This love is not dependent on the action of the other party neither does it demand reciprocity. Beyond the generic love however is the special love of God. To partake of His special love, you must first acknowledge His generic love and accept its gift as outlined in John 3:16. This love can only be accessed by loving and believing in Jesus who is the recipient of His special love.

For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. John 16:27

His special love therefore is conditional and demands reciprocity. He said in Proverbs 8:17:

I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

The more God's favourites love God, the more God loves them in return. Are you a recipient of His general love or a partaker of His special love? How much do you love God? Do you rise up early or at midnight to seek His face, praise and fellowship with Him? May you reap His superfluous love this season?

God also gives mercy. God's mercy is great towards those who fear Him. Psalms 103:11 says:

For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.

This means, the level of mercy you enjoy from God is a function of your fear of Him. Believers who do not fear God will not receive much of His mercy. If you truly fear and love Him, He can extend His mercy even beyond you (1 Chronicles 17:11-13). In addition, Matthew 5:7 says mercy follows the law of reciprocity. When you show mercy, you will have a harvest of mercy. If you fail to show mercy to others, you may soon run out of mercy yourself. Proverbs 11:17 says if you show mercy to others, you are only doing yourself a world of good. That means each time you refuse to be merciful to your neighbour, you hurt yourself. How merciful are you?

KEY POINT:
If you get more of judgements than mercy, it is most likely because you are indebted in mercy. Sow mercy to all who have hurt you.

TUE. 19/06/2012 - SEEING IS NOT ENOUGH - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Tuesday 19 June

SEEING IS NOT ENOUGH

Memorise: The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. Psalms 145:18

Read: Psalms 145:17-19

In 2 Kings 2:12-14, we read that Elisha "saw". Earlier, Elijah had told him that if he could see him when he is being taken up to Heaven, only then will his hard request be granted (2 Kings 2:9). Vision plays an important role in the life of anyone who wants to achieve in life. Proverbs 29:18 says those who lack it cannot avoid destruction. Today, so many people go to Israel on pilgrimage without seeing anything. Some go for sight-seeing and not for spiritual experiences. Proverbs 20:12 says it is God who made the seeing eyes because not everyone who has eyes can see. Ten people can look at a particular object and be seeing different things depending on their point of focus. May you see what God wants you to see in every situation in Jesus name. Through the eyes of faith, you can see the invisible. You can see the car you are expecting, the spouse you are believing God for or the baby you are still looking up to God for. You can see a glorious future and a better life for yourself using the eyes of faith. It is how far you can see that will determine how much you will get. Elisha "saw" and he received. What are you seeing?

Besides seeing, Elisha cried out. Why? He wanted his departing master to realise that he had seen him. Do you know that if he had not shouted to prove that he had met with the condition earlier set, he would not have received the double portion? In other words, it is not just enough to see it in the spirit realm. Many have seen their fine houses, promotions, spouses, children, or blessings in the spirit realm either through dreams, revelations or through the eyes of faith, yet they never received them in real life because they never cried out in prayer to God for them or confessed them. Your mouth is one of your greatest God-given weapons. How are you using this weapon? If you take it for granted that because God has shown you in a dream or vision therefore that blessing will surely come, you are being presumptuous and may never see it actualised. Many have lost their God-given destiny for fail ing to cry out. Your shout to God is what makes Him to know that you are in agreement with what He has shown you in the spirit realm. Is your mouth occupied with something that stops you from crying out? Uproot it today and call on the God of Elijah!

KEY POINT:
Seeing + (prayer or confession) - answer. Seeing (prayer or confession) = silence.

KEY OF FAITH

Memorise: And I fill give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven, Matthew 16:19

Read: Matthew 16:18-19

Jesus is the Door and as such He can compel all other doors to open willy-nilly. There is a door of breakthrough which comes through Jesus. A man who had been sick for 38 years encountered this Door one day. He had been trying but could not breakthrough into healing. One day, the Door paid him a visit and his breakthrough came. There is also a door of fruitfulness. Genesis 29:31 says Leah was hated by her husband so God opened her womb. On the other hand, the beloved wife Rachel was barren. But later in Genesis 30:22, God remembered Rachael and opened the door to her. Are you barren? The Lord will open the door of fruitfulness to you today!

By the use of keys, doors can either be opened for you by somebody or you could open doors by yourself. God can open a door for you manually or remotely. An example of God manually opening a door can be found in John 9:1-7 where the Lord had to touch the eyes of the blind in order to heal him. He could also order the door opened like He did in the case of erstwhile blind Bartimaeus without any physical contact (Mark 10:46-52) There is a God who can open doors without using keys and they will all obey Him, because He is the original Door, in like manner, you can open a door yourself. If you are given the key to a house, it will be your duty to open it In Matthew 16:19, the Lord says he gives unto us keys to open doors on earth and in heaven. He went on to specify in Matthew 17:20 that one of these keys was faith. Are you applying the key of faith to unlock those closed doors? Faith is a master key that can be applied to all closed doors and they will open. You can apply the key of faith and the door into fruitfulness will open. Apply the same key and the door into promotion will open. The same key of faith that secured your salvation can also open the door of healing, breakthrough and success; just that many refrain from applying the key to certain doors, hence they are refused access. Apply that key today and see the doors open.

KEY POINT:
The key to unlock that closed door is in your hands. If you do not use it, God would not come down to open the door either.

SUN. 17/06/2012 - DON'T ENRICH THE GRAVE - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Sunday 17 June

DON'T ENRICH THE GRAVE

Memorise: Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. Ecclesiastes 9:10

Read: Ecclesiastes 9:4-10

Your focus in life will affect you in time and in eternity. The one who focuses on material things will someday be separated from them when death comes, leaving the fellow with nothing on earth and nothing in the world to come. But the one who focuses on the things from above - a thriving relationship with God, the fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit, winning several souls to Christ, advancing the work of God's kingdom etc., will have the rewards awaiting him or her in eternity (Colossians 3:1-3). What are you giving most of your time, intellect and money? Remember your time will be up someday. Some have even lost their salvation to the pursuit of material things which sooner or later will be separated from them.

There is need to always remind yourself that after death there is no room for change anymore. Whatever you do now will be your peak at the point of death. After death, all such activities cease. Any talent you have not developed or utilised before death will go with the body to the grave after death. The cemetery is said to be the richest place on earth because it harbours all the unutilised talents, abilities, and even anointing which have become forever dormant by virtue of being in that location. Elijah served the Lord and transferred a double portion of his anointing to Elisha. The latter served the Lord too but because his servant Gehazi missed it, and the sons of the prophets in their prophetic schools did not pay the price, he went to the grave with his anointing. Any endowment that goes with you to the grave without being used for the benefit of your fellow man is wasted. After death, you will account for such waste. In other words, those abilities, talents to write, sing, win souls, motivate, etc., which you failed to use before death will become eternal exhibits which will be used against you. Has God given you life? Use it to its fullest. Develop all, not just some of God's gifts in your life and maximally utilise them for His glory. The grave must not receive anything else from you other than a totally emptied body. Don't enrich the grave!

PRAYER POINT:
Lord, help me to maximally utilise all the divine deposits in me to the extent that the grave will be unable to inherit anything from me when I die.

SAT. 16/06/2012 - TIME & OPPORTUNITIES - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Saturday 16 June

TIME & OPPORTUNITIES

Memorise: For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Psalms 32:6

Read: Numbers 14:35-45

Time is an asset given by God to man. However, its illusionary static nature when considered over a short span deceives men. Time is slowly ticking away, quickly converting every second in the present into a thing of the past. How you relate with time will determine whether you will succeed or not. In Numbers 13 and 14, God asked the children of Israel to go and possess the Promised Land, a great opportunity. So they sent 12 spies to check it out and report back to them. Ten of them gave an evil report by stating all they saw physically and concluding that it would be impossible for them to take the land. On the other hand; "Caleb and Joshua gave a good report by saying that the problems in the land were no match for the God of Israel. When they revolted against God and His servant Moses/God stepped in and plagued the 10 spies who brought the evil report and they died before the Lord. By the time the congregation realised their error they said they had sinned and were now prepared to go to the Promised Land as earlier instructed by God, but God said it was already too late. Their fate had been sealed! All who left Egypt from age 20 and above were to die in the wilderness without entering the Promised Land. Only the teenagers and children would make it. That is a classical case of missed opportunity in time.

No level of tears could turn the hands of the clock backwards. One lesson here is that the time you perform any assignment for God is very crucial to Him. If God asks you to do something, He also has the time that is right for you to do it. If you choose to do it at a time other than His time, it may not have the same desired impact or the missed opportunities might become irrecoverable or recovering such opportunities might come at a high cost. Whatever God instructs you to do, be in a hurry to do it except He instructs you otherwise. Is the Spirit urging you to pray? Pray now! Please suspend all you are doing and obey, if not, by the time you think you have the time to pray, it might be too late. Some people are sowing their seeds too late. Some prayers are done too late. Some acts of obedience are coming rather too late. Many people are surrendering too late. Don't be a victim of opportunities lost in time! If you follow Divine timing, you will never do anything too late.

KEY POINT:
The devil and the spirit of death, use the illusion of the constancy of time in deceiving those who defer their salvation to a later date thinking they have a lot of time.

FRI. 15/06/2012 - HARDENED BY GOD? - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Friday 15 June

HARDENED BY GOD?

Memorise: Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified; but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. Isaiah 66:5

Read: Exodus 4:21-23

On the Mount of Transfiguration, God said Jesus Christ is His Son that must be heard (Matthew 17:5). Hearing Him is most important for everyone who comes into this world. Why must you hear Him? It is because He has something to say to you in every area of your life that can be of benefit to you, which you may not yet know. You need to also hear Him because He holds the key to your success in life and ministry. You need to hear Him because being your creator and the creator of the earth; He knows what to do to fix any problem that arises concerning His creation. From today, the Lord will grant you grace to hear Jesus and to obey promptly.

Moreover, Jesus must be heard because failing to hear and comply with His instructions can lead to terrible consequences. If you doubt this, ask Pharaoh. God told Pharaoh to let His people go but he said he did not recognise the God of the Hebrews. God persisted in His request and Pharaoh persisted in his resistance. At some point, God said since Pharaoh had hardened his heart, he would be divinely assisted to do so the more (Exodus 4:21-23). By the time God hardened Pharaoh's heart, he became like a robot that was programmed to resist God. As far as God was concerned, Pharaoh had already perished even before he got to the Red Sea. God also instructed King Saul to wipe out the Amalekites but he spared their king and some animals. That disobedience cost him his crown. Many blessings have been lost because of disobedience or partial obedience by those God loves. Whenever you harden your heart, you get into trouble. In Hosea 5:6-9, God said Ephraim shall be desolate because he had earlier hardened his heart by being joined to his idols. God therefore left him alone. May God not leave you alone! Do you take time to hear Him? Do you provoke Him to speak to you? Do you wait on Him, doing nothing else but just waiting on Him in fasting, prayer, worship, praise and thanksgiving? Have you complied with all He has spoken to you? Your response to God's Word shows the kind of heart you have. What type of heart do you have?

ACTION POINT:
Most victories are lost because we refuse to wait on Him until He speaks to us. Ask for grace to seek Him until you find Him.

THU. 14/06/2012 - HE REIGNS ALONE - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Thursday 14 June

HE REIGNS ALONE

Memorise: Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Psalms 90:2

Read: 1 Samuel 5:1-5

One remarkable, unchangeable truth about our God is that He is the One ever in charge. He is in charge forever! He has always been in charge and will ever be in charge hence Revelation 1:8 says He is the Alpha and Omega. In Exodus 3:14, He says I AM that I AM. That means He is in charge even right now. Praise God! When we say our God reigneth, it means since no two captains can be in a ship, our God is the One in charge of our ship. When our God is reigning in a life, sickness or disease cannot be ruling there at the same time. A man was brought to Jesus in whose life sickness ruled. He was paralyzed and was-carried by four-people to where Jesus was. When they could not come anywhere close to the door, they broke through the roof of the house and lowered the man before the Lord. Being in charge, Jesus forgave his sins and healed him instantly and that was the end of his paralysis (Mark 2:1-12).

God cannot reign with demons at the same time. Psalms 24:7-10 says God is the Lord of Hosts, the King of Glory, the Lord Strong and mighty, the One who controls all the hosts. He is the Commander-in-chief of the Host. He cannot be reigning over a life or situation and one demon or devil will be ruling over the same life or situation. When the Ark of the Covenant of God was brought into the temple of Dagon - an idol, by the following morning, Dagon was seen prostrating before the Ark of God. The temple priests thought it was by mistake so they picked it up and put it to stand in its place. But by the following morning it had fallen down and the neck and hands were broken. As a result that temple became abandoned by its priests! God never shares His reign with anyone. Is God reigning in your life and sickness is thriving there at the same time? Something is wrong somewhere! Is God reigning in your life and demons are tormenting you too? Find out, there must be something wrong somewhere. Everything that is contending with the Most High God in your life shall give way today in Jesus name. God reigns alone.

KEY POINT:
Jesus reigns but the devil and anything evil rule their subjects. The surest way to prevent the rule of evil in your life is by allowing Jesus to reign there.

WED. 13/06/2012 - CLEAN SWEEP - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Wednesday 13 June

CLEAN SWEEP

Memorise: For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I wi!l help thee. Isaiah 41:13

Read: Isaiah 41:10-13

God cannot tolerate the abuse of power. When you use the anointing meant to repair and build up lives to destroy lives, it amounts to abuse of power. There are some men of God who have become so intolerant of their wives. When they started, they were nobody but today God has lifted them. Suddenly, they realise their wife is not educated, pretty or modern enough for their self-styled ministry. They will pick up quarrels at the slightest provocation. Since they cannot divorce, they will begin to use their tongue to condemn, devalue and pronounce death on such wives hoping that with their anointed tongues they can kill their spouse and then get married to some particular dynamic sister they have seen. This is wickedness of the highest order. God says He will be the witness between husband and wife (Malachi 2:14). Every evil pronouncement on your spouse is cancel led. If you do not repent, such evil wishes will return to you. Embrace your wife and treat her like a queen and all will be well with you.

It must be noted that God does not fight half-heartedly. Psalms 68:1-3 says when God arises, all His enemies will be scattered. Isaiah 41:10-13 says when you seek for those God has scattered: it will be a futile search. When God decides to fight, there will be nothing left-no trace of the enemy. When the fire of God roasts His enemies, you cannot even recognise them by the ashes. It is only a fool that will provoke God to fight him or her. If you walk with Him in total obedience and love, you will provoke Him to fight your enemies. But never let Him fight you. Believers who fail to tithe correctly are calling on God to fight them. If you are proud or disobedient, you are inviting Him to fight you. God does not fight the enemies of those who disobey Him because they are classed together in the same camp. Are you messing up and God is looking at you with mercy yet you take His mercy for granted? You are joking with fire! Repent today and make peace with Him. Be in His good books so that good things will fall to you and you will be kept from His judgment

PRAYER POINT:
Father, let nothing ever pitch me against You for the rest of my life.

TUE. 12/06/2012 - UNDER AUTHORITY - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Tuesday 12 June

UNDER AUTHORITY

Memorise: Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed. Luke 7:7

Read: Luke 7:1-10

One person who understood authority and order is the Centurion of Luke 7:1-10. When he met Jesus and asked of Him healing for his sick servant, he asked the Lord not to bother coming to his house as he was not worthy of such honour. He only requested a word from Jesus to heal his servant where he was. By this, the centurion was saying he recognised the link between Jesus and His Father hence a word of command from Jesus would be like His Father was the One dishing it out. Being a soldier under Caesar, .the centurion could issue orders to soldiers under him and they would obey, not because of him, but because of his master Caesar.

From this encounter the Centurion had with Jesus, it is glaring that what you know will determine the extent you can go. You can never go above your knowledge. But it is not just what you know but acting out what you know. Many people have knowledge but they never apply it The knowledge that is not applied is useless to the one who has it. To what extent have you applied your knowledge of God's Word to change your situation? What you don't know brings a limitation into your life. The more ignorant you are, the more limited you will be and the less value anybody can -derive from you. Show me a man that people get blessed from whenever he takes a sermon, talk or exhortation, and I will show you a man who pays a price to acquire knowledge. To what extent are you seeking knowledge today! In addition, that link between the Father and Jesus is extended to us. That is, when you command demons, sicknesses and problems and they obey, it is not because of your powerful, baritone voice, your dressing or even your make up; it is because of the authority that is backing you - the authority of Jesus. When you cast out devils, they will say: "Imagine this little rat who was born just yesterday issuing orders to us! Anyway, we have to obey or else be roasted by the Consuming Fire". This is why you must never break your link with Jesus.

KEY POINT:
It takes you being under God's authority to operate by His authority.

MON. 11/06/2012 - THE DOOR SHALL OPEN - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Monday 11 June

THE DOOR SHALL OPEN

Memorise: I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. John 10:9

Read: John 10:7-9

To enter into a house or a car, it is expected that you use the door. Any other mode of entry is seen as illegal and makes its user a criminal of some sort. What then is a door? A door is the boundary between i n and out. When the door is shut, those who are inside stay indoors while those who are outside stay out In Matthew 25:1-12, Jesus tells us the parable of the 10 virgins. As soon as the bridegroom arrived, the wise virgins went in with him and the door was shut. It is only when a door is open that those inside can go out and those outside can come in. The door needs to open so that all your blessings can come in, and every plant God has not planted in your life can go out. There may be several other doors but Jesus Christ is the Door. He is the door that grants you access. He makes entry into any area possible. In Exodus 14:15-28, God instructed the Israelites to move forward when they stood before the red sea. Confused, they looked up to Him, as they did, the Door opened a door through the red sea for them. Are you at a point of decision, not knowing whether to go forward or backward? Have you reached a point you consider your wits end and know nowhere else to go? The Door will open up a door for you today.

When the Door met the man who was born lame in Acts 3:1 -8, He opened the door of progress to him and the man began to make tremendous progress. There is also a door of healing. According to Exodus 15:26, anyone who needs healing can pass through the Door - Jesus. Promotion also has a door. If that door is not opened to you, you will remain where you have been. If men fail to open this door to you, you can meet the Door and go through Him. tn 1 Samuel 16:11-13, we read of David. This youth never in his wildest dreams thought he could be a king as there had never been one from his family before. Yet, because he was I inked with the Door, the door of promotion was opened to him. What door is refusing to open to you presently? Through the influence of the Door, it shall open to you this season.

PRAYER POINT:
Ask the Door to give you access into the areas or realms You have found difficult to enter.

SUN. 10/06/2012 - SEPARATION - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Sunday 10 June

SEPARATION

Memorise: The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 1 Corinthians 15:26

Read: 1 Corinthians 15:25-28

An African proverb says: "The one who is dead has paid all debts but the living has one more debt to pay". Generally, people fear death. They will do everything possible to keep this thief from completing its mission, in their lives. But what you fear so much becomes your master or even your god. What you fear ends up taking you into its bondage. An employee who dreads a sack will do everything possible to please his employer, even to the point of displeasing God sometimes. As a result of the level of fear people have towards death, they have become enslaved to it. Many are in bondage because of fear. Hebrews 2:14-15 says Jesus tasted death for all of us so that in the process, He might liberate us from this bondage. The fear of death has led many people into all kinds of covenants and satanic cults. 1 John 4:18 says fear torments its victim on a continuous basis. The day you stop being afraid of death, you have secured your freedom.

Why do people fear death so much? It is because it brings about permanent reparation from people, places and things. Whenever you travel to some distant location, there is a temporary separation from your family, house, car, etc, but as soon as you are back, that separation is over. According to 1 Corinthians 7:39, death separates husband and wife permanently, in 2 Samuel 12:15-23, when the product of David's adulterous affair died, David stopped fasting, washed himself and ate his food saying that the child was no longer going to return to him. When somebody dies, he is separated from his house and his bed; no matter how rich he was or how "much he liked his bed, he will be moved to the mortuary (Luke 12:16-21). There are earthly things with limited life-span and there are things of eternal value (1 Corinthians 9:24-25). Death may separate you from loved ones, places and things but if you have anything of eternal value, they will remain with you forever. This is why you should focus more on building up your heavenly reserves. In any case, how prepared are you for death or the rapture?

KEY POINT:
If death was to come calling now, would you have anything of Eternal value to look forward to in Heaven?

SAT. 09/06/2012 - CELEBRATORY MEAL - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Saturday 9 June

CELEBRATORY MEAL

Memorise: And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. John 12:32

Read: John 12:31-33

There are different types of meals. Meals are usually eaten day to day to survive. But there are meals taken to mark an important occasion such as marriage, house warming, child's naming or office promotion. Such meals are celebratory meals. This type of meal is not taken every day but once in a while, as occasion demands. The Holy Communion falls within this class. It is a celebratory meal. It is no ordinary meal. To take an ordinary meal, the whole family could sit at the dinning table at home to eat family sized bread and drink some wine. We do not have to embark on a journey just to take a regular meal. But the Communion meal is worth travelIing for.

Why is the Communion meal special? It is special because the Holy Communion is a celebration of victory - victory over sin. 1 John 1:7 says the blood cleanses us from all sins. When you take the wine, you are indirectly saying, Thank God my sins are gone. The Holy Communion is also a celebration of victory over sickness. As you eat the bread, you are equally saying, Thank God for healing all my sicknesses and diseases because His body was broken for me. The stripes that broke the body of Jesus delivered healing to us. As you drink the wine, you celebrate victory over the devil because Revelation 12:11 says they overcame the devil by the blood of the Lamb. Similarly, when you take the blood you celebrate your victory over bondage. Imagine the termination of over 400 years of slavery in Egypt by one meal! If you take this meal and you remain under satanic bondage, something is wrong somewhere. In addition, when you partake of the Holy Communion, you celebrate your victory over stagnation because He said in John 12:32, if He is lifted from the earth to the cross, He will draw men to Himself. His crucifixion has brought about your promotion. As you eat the bread, remember that since He has been lifted high, you too have been lifted above stagnation. That is why your delayed promotion has no choice but to come to you this season.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, thank You for the victories you have given me through The body and blood of Jesus Christ.

FRI. 08/06/2012 - SAY NO TO STINGINESS! - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Friday 8 June

SAY NO TO STINGINESS!

Memorise: He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it. Proverbs 11:26

Read: Proverbs 11:24-26

It is a terrible thing to be a miser. The miser stands between those he or she is sent to and their blessing. When God blesses the fellow because of those around him, their blessing will end up with him, whereas the supposed beneficiaries will continue to petition Heaven for their provision and God would say, "But I have released their blessings to so and so", if God wants to use you as a channel to bless others but you convert their blessings into yours, you are a thief, a robber, an oppressor and a wicked fellow. That act of wickedness may shut the doors of blessings against you. There are many brethren" who are still having in their custody items God had instructed them to give to their pastors, missionaries, or some needy persons. Some are still sitting on the money meant for others. Has God instructed or prompted you to give something - clothes, shoes, specific amount of money, a job opportunity, sometime of intercession, a car, a house, etc. to somebody? From that moment the item ceased to be yours. It is now another person's property in your custody just like tithe is God's money in your custody. If you fail to release the item(s) to the owner(s), you are only inviting curses and devourers.

If you are tight-fisted, it will affect your today and tomorrow. It will also affect your children and even generations after you. If you find it difficult to give, you can't be helped. A pastor that cannot give will turn his congregation into a church of misers. If such a pastor wants to raise funds for a project and he cannot give for the same purpose, many who should give may follow his bad precedent. Ask God to deliver you from the spirit of stinginess. Ask for the grace to give. Are you a giver? Do not rest on your oars! You can give more to trigger greater blessings. You can out-give others. You can move from just 10 to 20, 30, 50 or even 90 percent on tithing and see how God will embarrass you. Strive to lead when it comes to giving. Give generously and cheerfully. Give regularly. Give to God's servants even when they are not ministering to you. Just be a blessing.

KEY POINT:
If you by faith reverse the order of tithing from 10 percent to 90, God will reverse the order of blessing you from the ordinary to the extraordinary.

THU. 07/06/2012 - SEASONS OF LIFE - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Thursday 7 June

SEASONS OF LIFE

Memorise: While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. Genesis 8:22

Read: Psalms 16:5-8

According to John 9:4, in everyone's life, there is a day season and a night season. The former is ruled by the sun while the latter is ruled by the moon. In the life of believers, the Sun of Righteousness is ready to rule your day season hence He instructs believers to be ready to do their best during the day. Even the Lord acknowledges the difficulty of working in the night. If you will be a king in Heaven and occupy one of the thrones there, you must learn to work in your day season. The average day season starts from childhood to about 59. Your night season starts from 60 years. If you are below 60, make haste to do the bidding of the Lord. Ensure you fulfil His purpose for your life. If you are 60 and above but have not done much, ask God to have mercy on you and turn your night season into day. He did that for Moses, who at the age of 80 when he should be retiring, God commissioned him. He even served for 40 years up till 120 years. He could have continued but for anger. If Moses could achieve so much for God in ministry at that age, you too can. In fact, you can do much more.

Take stock of your achievements in the Kingdom. Has God specifically told you what He wants you to do? Have you done those things exceptionally well? God deserves the highest quality of service from His children. Is there anything 'e^ undone? Is there any aspect of the work you have done that needs to be improved upon? If you were sitting for an examination, and have finished but you still have some time left, you would most likely go over the questions and the answers you provided to be sure you have not goofed. You can apply the same to your work for God. You can make necessary corrections while you can. Ensure you render quality services to the Lord. Offer sacrificial services too. Do everything you can just to please the Master.

PRAYER POINT:
Lord, may I never be found wanting in my divine assignments and grant me grace to complete them in their season.

WED. 06/06/2012 - PATIENCE: A VIRTUE - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Wednesday 6 June

PATIENCE: A VIRTUE

Memorise: Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. James 1:3

Read: James 1:3-4

Patience is an indispensable virtue for all believers in Christ. In the first place, the race we are called into can only be run through patience because it is a marathon (Hebrew 12:1) Also, there is hardly any promise of God that can be fulfilled in the life of believers without the combination of faith and patience (Hebrews 6:12). As indispensable as faith is to a Christian, so also is patience. No wonder it is part of the fruit of the Spirit - longsuffering (Galatians 5:22). Do you know that when your faith is being tried, God uses that trial to generate patience in you (fames T:3)?This implies that the longer the period of trial, the greater your level or patience. But, when you fail to handle a particular trial of faith the way you should, it will not generate the level of patience that it should. For this reason, many who have gone through trials and complained throughout, grumbled against God, saw God as the opposition or even dropped in their personal obedience or commitment to God, ended up with little or no increase in patience.

If you have a lot of patience, you are rich. Like faith, patience is needed in virtually every area. According to today's reading, patience has a divine assignment to perform in our lives that will make us perfect. There is no perfection without patience arid without perfection you cannot see God. So to see God, you need patience. Patience can attract God's mercy to qualify the unqualified. We see this in the case of the Syrophenician woman who approached the Lord for the deliverance of her daughter. Even when the Lord ignored her and she was virtually called a "dog", she persisted in the presence of the Lord. At last, her patience qualified her for the -miracle her demographics had disqualified her from (Mark 7:25-30). How much patience do you have? Some leaders brag about how impatient they are without knowing how impoverished that makes them. Ask God for the grace to build more deposits of patience until you are rich in patience and it shows.

ACTION POINT:
Until patience has its full impact in your life, you cannot be what you were meant to be. Ask that God will make you perfect through patience.

TUE. 05/06/2012 - UNSERIOUSNESS - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Tuesday 5 June

UNSERIOUSNESS

Memorise: Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Romans 12:116

Read: 2 Kings 13:14-19

If you will manifest as more than a conqueror that you are, you must first conquer the laziness in your life. If you fail to do this, it will surely affect other areas of your life. It is common for a particular weakness in an individual's character to affect virtually every area of his or her life. For instance, a primary school pupil who finds it difficult to be early to school, will most likely be known as a late comer at secondary and tertiary institutions he goes through. He will also be a late comer at his place of work when he starts working. He will equally find it difficult as a worker to attend the worker's meeting at 7 am on Sunday mornings in church. Even in ministry as a pastor, he wil I do things late. Who knows, he may even get to the gate of Heaven too late and be disqualified from entering. If you have identified lateness as a weakness, start applying corrective measures now before it escalates and affects every area of your life.

Another area of character weakness that must be addressed relates to carelessness. Some people never take anything seriously and in the process they never become what God ordained them to be. We find an example in 2 Kings 13:14-79. Elisha was sick and the king paid him a visit. Since Elisha knew he would die through that illness and he wanted the issue of their enemies settled, he asked the king to take a bow and arrows and fire them through the window prophetically, with his hand upon his to signify how far the enemy would be defeated. After shooting the arrow, the king was asked to strike the ground and he stuck only three times and stopped. Elisha was angry with him saying that three defeats were not enough to have complete victory over the Syrians. Can you believe that even with the correction and rebuke from the man of God, the king did not strike further. In our meetings if I ask the congregation to pray for one hour, some people will pray for 30 minutes and start looking at me as if they never saw me before. Are you resting before the time? It could be very dangerous. In 1 Kings 13:1-24, God sent a young prophet to deliver a message and return without resting on the way. But on his way back he decided to rest and he never got home to tell the rest of the story. How careful are you? How up and doing are you in the things of God?

ACTION POINT:
The anger which robbed Moses of the Promised Land at 120 started in his childhood. Ask that every vice in your life capable of breaking your trip To the Promised Land be uprooted in Jesus name.

MON. 04/06/2012 - ABUSE OF POWER FORBIDDEN - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Monday 4 June

ABUSE OF POWER FORBIDDEN

Memorise: But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Matthew 18:6

Read: 2 Samuel 12:1-10

One thing God cannot stand is oppression. He cannot tolerate abuse of power or office. As we know, all power belongs to God (Psalms 62:11; Matthew 28:18). Whatever power you have been given to exercise is simply delegated. Daniel 4:25-26 says God rules in the affairs of men. He is interested in who becomes what and how they use the power God has given to them. In 2 Samuel 12:1 -14, when David abused his power by taking another man's wife and murdering him, God was grossly displeased and judged him by saying that the sword shall never depart from his house. That judgement was a fatal one! It is like saying, because you arranged the death of my innocent servant, in your lineage, the enemies will always have a reason to fight and kill your descendants. The harvest of David's sin was beyond the normal: it was extraordinary! This tells us that as a believer, you must be afraid of oppressing a fellow believer, especially the less privileged. It is even worse if the fellow is very dedicated to God. Why? One offence against him could earn you a generational harvest of the same evil you did - making you no different from Gehazi.

It is a very dangerous thing to abuse one's authority. The reason God puts you there or allowed you to get there is so that you can positively touch lives, and improve the lot of those under you, be it in government, church or work place. With all his wisdom and wealth, Solomon only succeeded in oppressing the poor Israelites hence after his death, the whole nation went to Rehoboam - Solomon's son and successor-to ask that he made his father's yoke on them lighter (1 Kings 12:1-4). Is your presence in that position or office bringing smiles to the less privileged brethren?

KEY POINT:
According to Matthew 18:6, drowning is a lighter punishment for oppressors of believers compared with what they will receive for their oppressive acts. Are you an oppressor?

SUN. 03/06/2012 - FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Sunday 3 June

FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE

Memorise: And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Matt 16:17

Read: Matthew 16:13-17

Some years ago, I was invited to preach somewhere for three days. The first day was on faith and the second day was on healing. So 1 told the pastor I will speak on restitution on the third day, but he refused. He did not want a message he claimed could scatter the crowd. Stop following the crowd. Stand distinct. Let God look down from Heaven and say, I have one faithful son. In Romans 8:34-39, Apostle Paul says nothing can separate us from God's love. True, nothing except you. Knowing Him will definitely cost you something. But how do we know Him? There are primary and secondary ways of knowing Him. John 5:39 says you can know Him by what others have experienced or declared of Him. That is from a secondary source. You should never be content with just what people say about Jesus. Or what they have experienced with Him; get your own encounter with Him! He said in Matthew 11:27 that:

All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son wilt reveal him.

Besides what others have shared about Jesus, you should have a firsthand revelation of Him. This is the primary way of knowing Him. You need to experience Him to know Him.

While studying John 15:1-5 some years ago, insights began to come to me. If He is the vine and I am one of the branches connected to the vine, it follows that what is flowing through the vine is also flowing through me. Then it occurred to me that the day t became born again, l had a blood, transfusion. The blood flowing in the Lord Jesus is the same flowing in me. To whom will He give revelations? To somebody like John the Beloved who was very intimate with the Lord (John 13:21-26). John was so intimate with the Lord that the other disciples knew it. He became someone the Master could not hide anything from. The day I understood this passage, I asked God to make me like John the Beloved. But He said: "love begets love." Parents are expected to love their children equally. But do they? They still love one child above others. While the other disciples saw God's acts and were in awe of Him, John saw God's ways and touched His humanity. Knowing Him makes ail the difference both in time and eternity. Seek to know Him from today. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal Jesus to you.

ACTION POINT:
Ask God to reveal Himself to you like He did to Abraham in Genesis 17:1.

SAT. 02/06/2012 - BREAKING OF BREAD - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Saturday 2 June

BREAKING OF BREAD

Memorise: And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Acts 2:42

Read: Acts 2:40-43

It is possible to be totally free of sickness for that is God's desire for us.

And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee "Exodus 15:26

Heating is good and highly desirable but some people who are well do not appreciate their state of well being. Like it is commonly said, you may not know the value of what you have until you lose it. Can you eat and easily digest it? You need to thank God because there are those who can hardly take any solid food because of their inability to digest it. Can you drink water and easily urinate? Thank God for it because there are those who have to be assisted with that function via dialysis. Thank God for your legs that you can stand, walk and even jump because there are those who have legs but cannot use them for anything.

Healing is good but living a healthy life is better. Better still is carrying the healing virtue. In John 6:5-13, Jesus was faced with the challenge of feeding 5,000 people with five loaves of bread and two fishes; immediately He broke the bread after He gave thanks, they were multiplied. At the Holy Communion we re-enact the "Breaking of Bread" which symbolises His body that was broken for us (1 Corinthians 11:24). How was His body broken? His body was broken by the stripes He received. These stripes paid the price for our healing, 1 Peter 2:24 says we have been healed by His stripes. But before the breaking of bread comes the giving of thanks, it is the giving of thanks that releases the power for multiplication and healing. As you go in to partake of the Holy Communion, do you give thanks for the body broken for you before requesting the blessing and healing? Know that the power to multiply your blessing and the power to renew your body are both available when bread is broken at the Lord 's Table. Every blessing you can ever desire is available at the Lord's Table. Just come with your faith giving thanks.

PRAYER POINT:
The gift I will give that will change my life, Father, grant me The grace never to withhold it.

FRI. 01/06/2012 - GRACE TO GIVE - OPEN HEAVENS - KINGDOM 28

Friday 1 June

GRACE TO GIVE

Memorise: John answered and said, A man can receive nothing except it be given him from heaven. John 3:27

Read: 2 Chronicles 1:6-15

Solomon benefited from the Spirit of wisdom. If you were asked what his secret was, you may say he was endowed because he asked for wisdom. But what made God to visit him on that crucial night? It was his offering. In today's bible reading, Solomon gave a thousand burnt offerings. It was his generosity; he gave what probably nobody ever gave to God before this time. But who gave this young boy the idea to do such a thing? God did and God equally inspired him to ask for wisdom to enable him rule God's people. That was a most unselfish request when he was given an open cheque to ask for anything. As seen from the memory verse, even the grace to give comes from above.

There are natural misers who are only comfortable when they don't have to spend. Anytime they intend to give and they hear the slightest discouraging voice, they beat a retreat. There are some people from some parts of Nigeria who are not noted for giving, unless they are touched by the grace from above. There are also people who by their professional training find it difficult to part with money. On the other hand, there are some people who are naturally generous; they are always uncomfortable when not given an opportunity to give. It is a grace that comes from above. God inspired Solomon to give what nobody had ever given so He could use that as the excuse to give him what nobody had ever received. God was behind it all. Are you tight-fisted? Do you find it difficult to give? You need this grace to give. The truth is, as long as you fail to give, you will not be able to receive what is due to you. I once visited a brother intending to bless him with some money. On arrival, he greeted me very well and I greeted him in return. He continued to greet me. He could not even offer a bottle of soft drink or water. I marvelled at his stinginess, greeted him and left with the gift I intended giving him. On the way, I bought soft drink from the money and still had some change. A miser is a big time loser. Are you one?

PRAYER POINT:
The gift I will give that will change my life, Father, grant me The grace never to withhold it.
